I read a letter earlier on today, sent to Equity ( actors and singers organisation in the UK )and the letter included a serious matter and indignation regarding one certain agent in opera that took his time to call a free lancer singer that once auditioned to him. It seems that the agent, took his time to call the singer, stating that he was very angry and irritated that he received an email from that singer and apparently threatened him as being a foreign singer, demanding that he should do things the "British" way , whatever the British way must be! The email, was an enquiry regarding auditions for 2010 and an invitation to attend one or more of his works, since it would be a good opportunity for the agent to check him up on stage. That makes me think how busy is an agent to take his time to call a free lancer singer to give him some bullshit? shouldn't he be finding jobs for his singers instead of taking time to call and insult a singer enquiring about auditions? or even better should he respond to the email politely with an specific answer?

This is really sad.... music market should really open its eyes. SOOOOO many good singers around.. if you go to many of the small productions in the UK you will find so many good singers, and NO , I said NO representation, why? Because the guys want to make money.. of course no one thinks of giving it a go and betting on a small singer.. who does think that, is the small producer, the small director.. the guy that also suffered a whole life of a bullying system, where the big guys think they have the power to manipulate the whole market; and of course... some of the other big guys believe in them.
Anyways, good evening all, and please, make an effort  and attend  a small production , a taylor made production, a small play or small opera. You will be amazed how much fun you will have for so little money!
