Vertigo sufferer Dmitri Hvorostovsky has faced up to his fears with a skydive over Florida. The Russian baritone, who is a regular at the Metropolitan Opera, says that he has always been scared of heights. The problem has even affected his singing career when adventurous productions have required him to perform from elevated positions above the stage.
Hvorostovsky said in a recent interview "I'm so used to adrenaline, in everything I do". Unfazed by the experience, he is hoping to jump again soon. "When I jumped out of the plane, it was the most glorious moment in my life. You really feel on top of the world."
A video of the event has been used to ‘launch’ Hvorostovky’s new site on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Hvorostovsky
