Here's another piece of commentary lambasting the current health of the 'classical music industry' and its inability (or is it refusal) to fight its way out. http://www.artshub.com.au/au/news-article/opinions/arts/democracy-vs-creativity-in-classical-music-185919 I am not sure I agree, though, with the implied argument that we should just replace apparent patrician attitudes to programming with populist ones. We might make more $, but are we (and our audiences) better off? |
