A new name for 'classical music'?

Here's another piece of commentary lambasting the current health of the 'classical music industry' and its inability (or is it refusal) to fight its way out.

I am not sure I agree, though, with the implied argument that we should just replace apparent patrician attitudes to programming with populist ones. We might make more $, but are we (and our audiences) better off?
