ooooooooohh that is great to watch on iplayer, i missed that, thank you for sharing! very fond memories of bryn terfel in peter grimes at royal opera house in 1995, i love the way he sings

Yep, it's an instant iPlayer classic - catch it while you can. I wish they would show a video of the actual production. Ironically, though, the recorded sound is probably better from the Albert Hall.

Think Proms have been great, unless one is a baroque fan..If they go on like this they`ll have to give baroque music a consolation "wild card" next year. Reflects Radio 3 drive to play film music and such, ahead of baroque.
In regard to children`s proms, absolutely great ! One proviso being that we don`t have general concerts that bring in children. I have been to too many concerts where children are up and about from their seats, conducting the music and such like, and I can`t concentrate. And it`s not that all kids are like that, some will sit better than adults do, but no one bothers to establish a concert code of behaviour!
