Gloucester Choral Society was founded 150 years ago and remains a vital part of Gloucester's cultural life. We are also part of the English tradition of amateur choirs performing to professional standards in conjunction with professional soloists and orchestras.  A mixed voice choir, currently of some 140 voices, performing in Gloucester Cathedral.   Weekly rehearsals in school term time on Mondays from 7.30 - 9.30pm in the Cathedral Chapter House, under the directorship of Adrian Partington (Gloucester Cathedral Director of Music).   If you'd like to join us, email (info@gloucesterchoral.com) via our website, come to rehearsals and then audition.  Many members of the choir were involved as members of the Three Choirs Festival Choir this summer - Gloucester hosted the 2010 season - but the new season of rehearsals start on September 8th, preparing for a performance of Verdi's 'Requiem' in the Cathedral on November 20th and of Handel's 'Messiah' on December 4th.
